BiglerWeibel
Museum Langmatt, Baden
The artist duo BiglerWeibel were invited to take part in one of three long-term process-based art projects as part of the two-year overall renovation of the Langmatt.
Jasmin Bigler (*1993 in Bern, lives there) and Nicole Weibel (*1990 in Niederhünigen, lives in Bern) have been working together as the duo BiglerWeibel since 2014. In their artistic practice, they explore space and body and combine performance and digital media to create site-specific interventions from a decidedly female perspective. In a cabinet exhibition, they are showing their explorations in the Langmatt during the renovation in the form of a multi-channel video installation incorporating historical furniture from the collection. The exhibition is accompanied by a flip book.
As part of the overall renovation, the artist duo Bigler/Weibel – alongside artist Reto Boller and cartoonist Silvan Wegmann (SWEN) – were invited to Langmatt for one of three long-term process-based art projects. Three different perspectives, generations and artistic media accompanied and documented the structural changes during the overall renovation. During this time, snapshots were repeatedly published on the museum's website and newsletter as well as on social media. The projects culminated in three cabinet exhibitions to mark the reopening. The public will thus experience the renovation-related changes over two years from an artistic perspective, initially digitally and in 2026 on site in the newly renovated Langmatt in the form of a retrospective perspective with artistic results.
