Street Scripts

Galerie Polomarco, Geneva

Galerie Polomarco is proud to present "Street Scripts", its first exhibition devoted to urban art, bringing together two emblematic figures: L'Atlas and Rafael Sliks.

Street Scripts offers a visual dialogue between two singular approaches to urban calligraphy, where letters fade into shapes, transform into messages, and become sensory experiences. A powerful rereading of urban language through two singular visions of street art.

L'Atlas, whose real name is Jules Dedet, was born in Paris in 1978, and develops a singular visual language where geometric abstraction meets calligraphic traditions. Trained by masters in Morocco and Egypt, he hijacks the codes of writing to create enigmatic compositions, somewhere between cartography, labyrinth and optical art. Inspired by duality and movement, he blurs the boundaries between letters and shapes, transforming each work into a field for reflection. L'Atlas has established himself as a major figure in contemporary street art, working in both public spaces and major institutions.

Rafael Sliks, born in 1981 in São Paulo, was captivated from childhood by the graphic signs scattered around urban spaces. He started out as a graffiti artist, taking over the walls of his city before developing a singular abstract style combining calligraphy, colors and textures. Inspired by the chaos of cities and the tranquility of nature, he transforms writing into a vibrant visual language, at once a means of expression, denunciation and beauty. His works, true immersive compositions, have left the streets of São Paulo to be exhibited in Miami, Berlin, Taiwan, Paris and many other places around the world.
