The Allure of the Jungfrau Marathon

42.195 km, 1,953 meters of elevation gain, and 4,000 starting spots that sell out every year. These are the numbers that make the Jungfrau Marathon so special. But it’s not just these numbers—it’s also the stunning scenery along the entire route, which fans and participants alike can marvel at time and again, that makes hearts race. Pure nature!

At the starting line in Interlaken, you can already catch a glimpse of the finish line. The view of the Jungfrau—one of the famous “Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau” trio of the Alps—sets the course. The Jungfrau Marathon winds through a variety of changing landscapes—along the beautiful Lake Brienz, through traditional mountain villages, and finally past a fantastic mountain backdrop. The unique atmosphere, enhanced along the entire route by flag-wavers, alphorn players, and cowbell ringers, makes this race a truly captivating experience.

Runners are welcomed at the finish line on the Eiger Glacier at 2,320 meters above sea level, at the foot of the Eiger North Face.
