Bittersweet Escape explores the desire for retreat and freedom between city noise and mountain idyll - a game of longing, illusion and self-reflection.

Bittersweet Escape moves through the fragile space between longing and letting go.
The exhibition reflects the human urge to retreat from the noise of the modern city into the supposed purity of a traditional mountain world - a landscape that is imagined as a place of refuge, but is never free of human projection. Freedom becomes both a promise and an illusion, loneliness both a place of retreat and a mirror.

In a constellation of printed works, installations and moving images, the artists unfold the idea of escape itself: What are we running away from - and where are we fleeing to?
Bittersweet Escape invites the viewer into a state of silent tension - between distance and belonging, nature and construct - in which the boundaries between the inner and outer worlds begin to blur.
