This exhibition presents a series of new pieces by glassmaker Matteo Gonet who, after training at the Technical School of Glass in Zwiesel, Germany, travelled around Europe as a journeyman in search of glassmaking expertise. Each destination was an opportunity to expand his knowledge and adopt new techniques.

After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1999, he was entrusted with managing the hot glass workshops at CIRVA (Centre international de recherche sur le verre et les arts plastiques) in Marseille at the age of 20. There he met some of the most renowned artists and designers of the time. In 2004, he began working in Lausanne, then in Berne. In 2009 he opened his own studio in Münchenstein near Basel, and has since worked with a team of fifteen artisans to develop collaborations with designers, artists and architects – continuously pushing the boundaries of his field.
