Bagpipe music, drum rolls, impressive marching formations, traditional dances, brass band music and its own small tent village – these are the ingredients of ‘The Princely Liechtenstein Tattoo’. This spectacular musical event takes place every two years in front of the historic Schellenberg castle ruins and also delights audiences with the Princely Tattoo Parade through the center of Vaduz.

At the open-air shows of the ‘Princely Tattoo’, the historic Schellenberg castle ruins are brought back to life. Visitors from Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria and all over Europe gather around the listed backdrop to enjoy the 2½-hour shows and the supporting programme on three evenings.

You’ll be captivated by breathtaking choreography, impressive dances, the traditional sounds of marching music, modern influences from rock and pop, and, of course, the mystical sounds of bagpipes and drums. As varied as the shows by the participating groups may be, they all have one thing in common: pure emotion!

The grand highlight of each show is the finale, when all the participating groups take to the stage and perform selected pieces of music together.
