A furious ride through music history with Reto Bieri and Anthony Romaniuk

«Out of the box» sees Reto Bieri and Anthony Romaniuk take over the Konzertsaal, using the clarinet and various keyboard instruments to sound out a whole host of different musical constellations. This unusual and entertaining concert takes over the stage, as two old friends explore shared time, space, locations, gramophones and musical languages.

Curated by Reto Bieri, «LOST BUT FOUND... AND LOST» may seem unusual at first glance but is actually a carefully planned musical journey through various eras and styles, from baroque to contemporary. In the words of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: ‘Bieri has a gift for devising set lists that enable his more eccentric, seemingly bizarre ideas to turn into musical gold.’

Swiss clarinettist and improvisor Reto Bieri, who was born in Zug and won the city’s culture prize in 2023 among other awards, has travelled far and wide as a soloist and chamber musician for over 20 years, and has been professor of chamber music in Würzburg since 2012 and in Munich since 2022. In his time as artistic director of the DAVOS Festival, he brought fresh impetus to the classical music scene with poetic, cleverly concocted programmes in conjunction with various chamber orchestras and long-time chamber music partners.
