Abbaye de Saint-Maurice - basilique, trésor et site archéologique

Abbaye de St-Maurice, St-Maurice

Located in Wallis, the Abbey of Saint Maurice was founded by Prince Sigismund of Burgundy in 515. A unique site in the West, the Monastery has been in constant use since its foundation some 1’500 years ago. Every year, the site hosts visitors and pilgrims from all around the world.

Taking advantage of the celebration of its 1500th anniversary, the Abbey opened its doors to the public and presented a new museum space, with a new exhibition and multiple sites opened to the public.

Through voice and music, the original audio system will guide the visitor to through the discovery of the Basilica, the archaeological site and the jewels of the new treasury room.
