In 1947, a group of young Swiss wrestling enthusiasts took it upon themselves to revive the Swiss wresting festival.

The height of the Weissenstein is 1284 meters on the map. The unforgettable view over the Mittelland to the majestic Bernese Alps offers an incomparable backdrop, almost created to cultivate ancient customs like wings. The Weissenstein-Schwinget belongs to the exclusive circle of six mountain wreath festivals and is therefore an event of national importance. The festival on Solothurn's local mountain attracts a large crowd every year and is one of the highlights of the Schwingfest calendar.
