On Monday afternoon, 23.02.26 and Wednesday afternoon, 25.02.26, the Cortège (parade) will take place between 13.30 and 18.00 in Basel's city center - in Grossbasel and Kleinbasel.

The parade, known as the Cortège in Basel, takes place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons on two opposing routes (inner and outer). It is the centerpiece of the Basel Sujetfasnacht. Around 11,000 carnival revelers present their motifs, which are redesigned from scratch every year. The 500 or so units, such as cliques, floats, Guggemusiken, Grüppli etc., march off on both afternoons at one of the three fixed departure times (1.30 pm / 2.10 pm / 2.50 pm) from their allocated departure point (see route plan). The Cortège is a wonderful mixture of drumming and piccolo sounds, wiggling Guggen, intriguing Waggis and whirling Räppli. The badge is valid as an admission ticket, so wearing it is a matter of honor.
