On February 22, 2026 at 10.30 a.m., the Elisabethen Open Church invites you to a carnival service as a contemplative and cheerful prelude to the Basel carnival.

The carnival service in the Elisabethen open church in Basel in 2026 will be held under the motto "Gäll, de kennsch mi nit? - D'Fasnacht isch poetisch" and will take place on the Sunday before Morgestraich, February 22, 2026, at 10.30 am. The cheerful and contemplative celebration will get you in the mood for the "drey scheenschte Dääg" (three beautiful days) and will feature music and content by Comité-Schnitzelbängg, pipers, drummers and other participants; the liturgy will be led by Frank Lorenz. Admission is free (collection), after which everyone is cordially invited to an aperitif.
