Glaibasler Charivari 2026: 50th anniversary of Charivari

Looking forward to 50 years of Glaibasler Charivari! The Glaibasler Charivari has been performed in Basel's Volkshaus since 1976. Thanks to the mixture of popular appeal, a willingness to experiment and first-class carnival performances, the event has been able to develop continuously. The event, which was once launched in the "Schoofegg" by "Baschi" as the "Gegen-Drummeli", will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. The organizers are looking forward to half a century of Charivari with lots of emotions and stories. True to the original motto "Uus em Volgg, für s Volgg" (From the people, for the people), they will not stray from their path in the anniversary year either and will focus on staged wordplay, spiced up with a bit of slapstick and excellent carnival music.

The anniversary edition will take place from January 24 to February 7, 2026.
