Guided tours of La Linnaea botanical garden
Jardin alpin La Linnaea , Bourg-St-Pierre
Explore the alpine plants of the La Linnaea garden.
Come and discover the La Linnaea alpine garden, founded on July 20 1889 by Henry Correvon on the north side of the Great St Bernard Pass. It is the oldest garden in the western Alps. Acquired by the Société Académique de Genève in 1915, La Linnaea served as a scientific laboratory and was restored to mark its 100th anniversary. Since then, it has been maintained by the staff of the Geneva Botanical Conservatory and Garden, and is now owned by the Commune of Bourg-St-Pierre. This natural setting is home to over 300 species of alpine flora, offering unique opportunities for nature observation and study.
Every Wednesday from June 18 to September 3. Meet at 2pm directly at the garden.
Visits take place in all weathers and are free of charge.
