After the great success of the past editions, CaronaImmagina - the biennial festival that celebrates photography in all its forms - returns from June 7 to October 31, 2025 with a bold, exciting and deeply human project:

“The Rhythm of the Challenge - Festival of Sports Photography.”

A unique event in Italian Switzerland, dedicated to those who live and love sport not only as a technical gesture or competition, but as an intense expression of emotions, sacrifices, dreams, victories and falls. A festival that, through the eye of some of the greatest contemporary sports photographers, offers a fresh look at what happens before, during and after each performance.

Beyond the action, inside the emotion

“The Rhythm of the Challenge” is a widespread exhibition, but also an opportunity for generations to meet, experiences, professions and passions. The images on display tell not only the highlight of a race, but everything that precedes and follows it: the preparation, the concentration, the fatigue, the tension, the humanity that each athlete brings.
A photographic project that becomes a visual and cultural narrative of sport, in its most authentic dimension.

The protagonists: masters of the sports gaze

A true living legend of international sports photography. His images have toured the world, published in iconic titles such as Sports Illustrated, Time, Newsweek, Stern, Paris Match, The Sunday Times and The New York Times. Martin has won more than 65 international awards, including the prestigious World Press Photo (2005) and NPPA Sports Photographer of the Year (2017).
He has participated in all the Olympics from Seoul 1988 to Paris 2024, not only as a photographer but also as an advisor to the IOC for the organization and management of photographic operations. His photo book1/1000th won the British Illustrated Book of the Year Award and is considered a milestone in contemporary sports photography.

Filippo de Fernex, born as a photographer, through the new tools created to generate images proposes a different reality. Through the creativity of language, images are generated and sports situations are transformed, in an unprecedented and surreal dimension.
