In summer 2025, the colorful and visually stunning Rigi Festival will return to Rigi Staffel in an updated version to mark the 150th anniversary of the Arth-Rigi Railway.

The history of the first railroad in the canton of Schwyz reads like an exciting novel. Hope, setbacks, challenges, but also constant innovation characterize the last 150 years of the ARTH-RIGI-BAHN. The repeated relocation of the valley station, the electrification of the railroad and the guests from all over the world are just as fascinating as the intensive work of the mountain farmers, the passing on of traditions over many generations and the enormous natural arena on Rigi Staffel.
Christoph Walter and his orchestra, together with over 200 performers, combine well-known folk songs, pop songs and classical music to create moving music. Traditional costume girls, actors, yodellers, alpine families, alphorn players, wrestlers, artists and dancers draw experiences into the arena like something out of a picture book - fascinating and surprisingly staged.
